Leah (Zixuan) Zhang works with film, photography, sound and installation. With a background in film studies, Leah's work is a research practice involving onsite labor and extensive collaboration. Discussing the ontology and materiality of image, the subjects and perspectives of looking, the metaphysics of visual transformation and its socio-historical implications.  

Leah has been working on extraction and alchemy, as both subject and thought process. Taking image-making as an alchemy, her recent work focuses on the affect and phenomenological experiences generated through the energy of image.
