ABOUT TREEHOUSE NDSM
Treehouse NDSM is a breeding ground(broedplaats) located on the former NDSM shipyard at the shores of the IJRiver in Amsterdam-North.
Treehouse NDSM supports multi-disciplinary artists in bringing their projects to life by offering 100 individual and affordable studios for rent, as well as access to exhibition spaces and the opportunity of participating in a vibrant and collaborative artistic community. It is an artistic incubator where artists and audiences use their imagination to create their vision of the world. The complex is a small village, built over two floors from recycled sea containers and building sheds. Renting out the studios is the main source of income for the Treehouse's operation.
Since 2022, Treehouse develops a program of 4 group exhibitions per year, each one running for one month. The themes of the exhibitions are chosen together with the artists from Treehouse who will be co-curating them. The shows always include artists who have a studio in Treehouse but also artists from outside through a call for projects (mainly from The Netherlands, but it can be from other countries).
