An intimate live show from two talented singer-songwriters: Jules (pop-folk) and Laura Polence (modern mixed with Latvian folk).
Jules (Julia Rosenhart) is a singer-songwriter and theatre performer/writer. Her musical career started in her teens, when Jules began writing her own piano pieces. She experimented with instrumental music before she started adding lyrics. After studying “kleinkunst” (theatre and music) in Antwerp for four years, she returned to the Netherlands. The artists that have had a great impact on Jules’ artistic development are Joni Mitchell, Justin Vernon, Kate Bush and Suzanne Vega. Jules loves to compose songs on the piano and synthesiser.

Laura Polence is a singer, pianist, composer and mime artist from Latvia. Together with her band, she produces modern compositions and Latvian folk music that create a unique mixture of sounds and atmosphere. Over the years, she worked with different musical ensembles and toured the world for a few years with the bands Snowapple, How Town, Kaja Draksler Octet and Latvian Voices. The expressive way of singing, playing and improvising makes the performance of the LP band theatrical, exciting and varied.

ABOUT LIVE AT OUR PLACE
Live at our Place is a series of monthly intimate concerts by Treehouse NDSM’s musicians-in-residence. Our industrial Pavilion building will be turned into the musicians’ own living room, tuned each time to their own particular style and vibe. We invite you to our place, grab a drink, sit on the couch (or dance!) and enjoy the tunes that our talented community is working on during their stay at Treehouse NDSM.
