Bonds per Stitch | Community Art Project & Exhibition
January 31, 2025

Date: 1 February - 9 February           Time: Thur to Sun 12h - 18h          Free entrance

Through community art project ‘Bonds per stitch’ artist Rucha Kulkarni worked with 5 women from different cultural backgrounds to explore the idea of 'home in foreign land' through their textiles and memories associated with it. During this project, Rucha conducted a workshop on traditional Indian hand-quilting technique for recycling fabrics. Together they quilted and made a textile art installation that reflects upon their personal experiences about mobility, the evolution of their idea of home, and multicultural belongings. The outcome of the project will be exhibited in Treehouse NDSM from the 1 to 9 February 2025.

Discover the essence of "home" through fabric and storytelling. As part of the Bonds Per Stitchexhibition, we invite you to an engaging quilt-making session where layers of fabric become canvases for reflection. Together, we'll explore how home transcends time and space—shaped by past memories, present practices, and future aspirations.

Bring your creativity and connect with others in weaving personal and shared narratives. No experience is needed, just an open heart and a willingness to stitch stories into art. Let’s create a quilt that speaks of our evolving sense of belonging.

Opening evening of this presentation will take place 31 January at 18h. See you there!
