Artist/researcher Marloeke van der Vlugt tries, through her touchable works, to give our tactile sense the attention it deserves. How will you describe the texture, temperature and softness or hardness of the object? How does your body react to the direct physical contact? What does the object want to tell you? And how do you respond?

This workshop is part of a workshop series called “HerArt”, focusing on female artists and their work. This workshop is dedicated to Artemisia Gentileschi, an Italian painter. You will learn about her life, career, and techniques.

Participants of the bookmaking workshop will make a book in the shape of a flower/star. Each participant will create a tactile book with the use of a variety of materials and collage.
