Date: January 26th             Time: 20h - 22h30           Price: €7,50

An evening about the lives and works of both Leonard and Virginia Woolf, and their surrounding Bloomsbury group.

[This event will be held in Dutch]

PROGRAMME

Translator panel
With translators Monique ter Berg, Jetty Huisman and Leonoor Broeder about their translations of Moments of Being (Ben ik een snob?) and The Wise Virgins (De wijze maagden), and Pauline Slot and Thomas Heij who are currently translating other essays by Virginia Woolf for the Internationale School voor Wijsbegeerte, which will be published in 2024. The panel will be moderated by Elte Rauch.

Intermezzo
Reading of favorite passages from Ben ik een snob? and De wijze maagden.

Interview
Corina Maduro (@boekencurator) will speak with Young Adult author Rindert Kromhout, who will speak about his Bloomsbury trilogy (Soldaten huilen niet, April is de wreedste maand, Vertel me wie wij waren) and his research.

Bloomsbury atmosphere
We'll play records from the Bloomsbury era and serve Stinger cocktails, the signature Bloomsbury drink. All kinds of Woolf-related books will be for sale (and more). Including the beautiful pamphlets by Louisa Albani: A Moment in the Life of Virginia Woolf, and Virginia Woolf in St. Ives.

A wonderful opportunity for all Woolf and Bloomsbury lovers to meet and talk (over a Stinger, perhaps).
